Featured Performers
Our featured caller is Kathy Anderson, who is known for her high-powered squares, smooth flowing and unusual contras, clear teaching, enthusiasm, and delightful sense of humor. Kathy has called dances from Alaska to Florida and in the Bahamas and Europe.
The Great Bear Trio is a beloved family band from Fulton, NY. Noah VanNorstrand, Andrew VanNorstrand, and their mother Kim Yerton use a unique approach that results in a tight blend of original and traditional music, creating a sound that one listener described as "a synthesis of Cotton-Eyed Joe, All Shook Up, and the music of Philip Glass."
John Hoffmann and Randi Beckmann of Up South fame, join Stefan Sanders and Jim Reidy in a hot new band called Long John & the Tights. These veteran musicians will crank out old-time Appalachian music that will make you want to move your feet!
Hearts Delight offers tasty traditional music for both contra and English country dancing. This multifaceted ensemble includes David Smukler, Eileen Nicholson, Laurel Sharp, Zeke Smukler and John Wobus.
Our featured performers will be joined during the weekend by some of upstate New York’s many talented callers. In addition, members of Central New York's finest (and only...) mixed border Morris dance team, the beloved Bassett Street Hounds, will be there to lead a participatory workshop.
