This is the email newsletter of the Syracuse Country Dancers. To get
the lowdown on how this mailing list works, scroll all the way down
(past our schedule info).

I hope to see lots of you this weekend. We are having a special "theme"
dance on Saturday night. Bob Nicholson is planning a program of dances
by local composers that sounds great. The band is Mockin'bird -- should
be a fun dance!

Then on Sunday afternoon you are invited to a party that board members
Cathy and Dave Waalewyn are throwing for me at their house, 4791
Glencrest Ave. in Liverpool, NY. That's this Sunday afternoon, July
31st, from 12 noon to 7pm-ish. The excuse for the party is to accept my
resignation from the board and wish me well in my new job. (I expect to
continue to write these e-newsletters for a while, though.) Anyway,
please come provide me with some wonderful company -- yours! Good
things to bring include food (a dish to pass, a beverage to share, or
something to grill) and a swim suit and towel. Also bring instruments
and lawn chairs if available - the Waalewyns have seating for maybe 10
or 15. The household is definitely family friendly; children who are
accompanied by an adult are very welcome. Pickup dancing is likely to
occur. I even heard a rumor about some possible sword dancing.... You
can contact Cathy at <clw at twcny.rr.com> or 315-451-8690 if you need
directions or more details.

Our schedule below has a list of other great upcoming dances. Remember,
our website <www.syracusecountrydancers.org> can tell you more about
our local dances, as well as lead you to other dance events in CNY.

Organizers in Binghamton have been very busy! They've asked us to pass

Celtic and English dance tunes and airs, hymns, tangos, ballads, and
more. Tickets for this special Cranberry Coffeehouse appearance will
be $10, available at the door, or $8 for seniors. (Please note:
Jacqueline Schwab will also call and play for OUR Syracuse Country
Dancers' regular dance on October 1.)

3) The second annual Kindred Spirits Weekend is scheduled for November
12-13 at the Tri Cities Opera Center at 315 Clinton St., Binghamton.
Callers Beverly Francis and Pamela

About our e-newsletter

You receiving this note either because you requested to be on our email
list, or because you are on the Friends of Folk mailing list, whose
owner has asked us to send our messages to the FOF list.

We have a slightly new format, which we hope will improve our ability
to manage the list. For the most part this won't make much difference
to you. You will still receive our notes somewhat intermittently but
approximately monthly. The one difference is that you can use a link
that appears at the bottom of each email to make changes in your list
"subscription." For example, if your email address changes, or you'd
rather change your name to a nickname (or no name - about half a dozen
of you are on our list as "name missing"), you can make such changes
yourself. You can also choose to unsubscribe yourself at any time. The
only exception to this is if you are receiving this through
Friends-of-Folk. Then the choice to subscribe or unsubscribe is made by
that list's owner. Of course, you can always choose to unsubscribe from
that list, although we hope you won't!

If you have any friends or acquaintances who would like to receive
these notes, let them know that they can subscribe themselves by going
to the list's general info page at
<http://admin5.blumenthals.com/mailman/listinfo/e-
newsletter_syracusecountrydancers.org>. If you are ever looking for it,
you can go to <www.syracusecountrydancers.org>, navigate to our
"contacts" page, and there you'll find a link.

TA for now!
